America: A Fragile Democracy

This post has not come to pass because I am predicting or advocating civil war in America. However, America today exists in the form of the most unstable democracy this nation has seen since 1860. Rather than civil war, we as Americans may choose on our own to call a Constitutional Convention and in so doing throw out the Constitution of the United States as it exists today. All this takes is a perfectly legal call established in our constitution by two-thirds of the state legislatures.

Can’t happen?  Don’t bet on it.  I think we are approaching a juncture where both conservative red states and liberal blue states together may call for a constitutional convention, meeting the two-thirds requirement.  America is simply not workable as it exists today.
